Mendocino Solar Motor Kit
Wanneer je voor het eerst een Mendocino motor ziet kun je niet anders dan hierdoor gefascineerd zijn. Hij zweeft in de lucht en draait vanzelf, schijnbaar zonder enige toevoeging van energie. De functionele werking hiervan is eigenlijk heel simpel. De Mendocino motor is een magnetisch zwevende elektromotor aangedreven door zonne-energie. De zonnepaneeltjes leveren stroom aan de spoelen die op de rotor zijn gemonteerd, waardoor een magnetisch veld wordt gegenereerd. De sterke magneet, die aan het onderstel (het frame) is bevestigd, zorgt ervoor dat het magnetisch veld tot rotatie leidt. Dankzij de unieke magnetische ophanging is er ook bijna geen wrijving.
